Which electric scooter suits you?
Choosing an electric scooter doesn't start with the best-looking model, but with how you'll use it. Do you commute to work or school every day, want maximum range, are you buying a first scooter for a child, or simply want fun on private land? At MoveVolt we split 130 models from 27 brands into 6 clear segments, so you make the right choice in minutes — with free shipping, in stock, and a test ride in the showroom to be sure.
Choose based on your use and segment
MoveVolt's range is built around six use profiles. Start with how you'll ride, and the right model almost picks itself:
- City & commuter (44 models) — compact, foldable and quick for the daily commute. This is the largest group and ideal for the everyday trip to the office, campus or station.
- Powerful & long-range (35 models) — large battery, strong motor and the most range for longer distances or hills.
- Budget & entry-level (29 models) — start affordably from sharp prices, without unnecessary bells and whistles.
- Kids' scooter (14 models) — lower speed and a safe size, made for young riders.
- Drift trike (5 models) — three-wheel fun and sport for your own land.
- Hoverboard (3 models) — self-balancing fun on the side.
Prices run from €129 to €1299, with top speeds between 6 and 60 km/h — so there's a fitting model for every budget and goal. Torn between two segments? Our selection guide gets you there in a few clicks.
Check legality before you order
If you want to ride on public roads, this is the most important question of all. Of our range, 62 models are RDW-legal and permitted, while 68 are not (yet) — those are meant for private land, sport and off-road. In the Netherlands most electric scooters may not simply go on the road; only models approved by the RDW may. That sounds strict, but making the right choice up front saves you a fine and hassle.
In the catalogue, therefore, use the legal filter to instantly see only the permitted models. Do you mainly ride on an enclosed site, a sports venue or off-road? Then the non-admitted models are exactly what's open to you, often with more speed and power. Unsure what's allowed in your situation? Read our dedicated legality hub for the current rules and the RDW selection guide.
Set your budget and the specs that matter
Look beyond price alone. Three specs make the real difference in practice between a scooter that fits and one that disappoints:
- Range — how many kilometres per charge? A short city ride needs less than a long commute. Always allow a margin against the factory figure, because cold, weight and hills take kilometres off in practice.
- Top speed — partly determines whether a model is allowed and how quickly you get around. In our range speeds run from 6 to 60 km/h; the highest are mainly in the sport and off-road models.
- Weight — important if you often carry the scooter, for instance on the train or up the stairs to your apartment. A foldable city model is then nicer than a heavy long-range scooter.
With 27 brands — from top names like Segway-Ninebot (40 models), Denver (12) and Xiaomi (8) to Joyor, VMAX and Zero — there's a reliable option for every wish. Still not sure? Our selection guide filters by use, budget and legality, and if in doubt we give expert advice. Feel free to book a test ride in the showroom so you can feel the difference yourself. Paying in instalments via Klarna is always possible, shipping is free and all models come with a 2-year warranty.
